The scene with the elevator is the only part of the remake so far that doesn't sit right with me. While OG Maria was screaming, RE Maria is weirdly silent. I saw another playthrough where Maria was way ahead of James, so the cutscene felt like a massive continuity error. They should've made her fall back in the final hallway, leading to the elevator.
The scene right before it - where she voices her concern with the hallway even though she doesn't know why - is pretty damn good, though. Especially on a second playthrough where you as the player knows what's going to happen, but there's nothing you can do to prevent it.

you can save maria bro you must check in her room much more often you only went once you are not supposed to brake any glass around her and if she dies go right to her cell and another story will triger where she is ok and you get the perfect ending with her not gonna spoil it

It's so annoying how he tries to solve the puzzles before he actually looks around everywhere and gets all the info needed. You would also think after so many years he would know how to look and read what is on the screen better

So that's an optional puzzle. I prefer the original voice actor that reminded me of older 1940s game show hosts which made the ambiance creepier.

Shoot the knees so you can slow them down or stun them then you can use the pipe to save you bullets. It works for me and saves me a lot of bullets + health :)

I think the decorative box is where you put the answers in from the questions during the elevator ride, in the original game if you answer it properly it unlocks and there’s a ton of ammo inside. Probably the same for the remake as well
