to go crouching M.kick into drive rush, or any bottoum into drive rush, you have to be at neutral state when pressing -> ->, i had the same problem when i started playing this game, but if you let go down and do the drive rush will work, or map a macro but im old and hate macros so i do sf4 style like real man does.

if you're having trouble drive rush cancelling your normals, try using an empty button as a shortcut. i use l1 on my controller, so all i have to do is tap it to parry or cancel into drive rush. it made things so much easier for me because i struggled with the ➡️➡️ cancel as well.
