In concept I liked this new Shepard. While the original can be considered more of an action villain since I don’t believe generals would be on the front lines the new Shepard was a suit in washington. The type of guy who let’s others do his dirty work and was willing to dispose of them under the table. But og Shepard was better imo cause you just hated him. You genuinely feel rage as he screws over and kills members of 141 while attempting to lie and parade himself as a war hero when the entire conflict began because of a mission he sanctioned. It was satisfying putting a knife in his head while watching Price kill the new guy is “well that happened i suppose”. His betrayal was so obvious even without Modern Warfare 2 and now he’s just dead.

People wanna complain about how Soap’s death was a waste of a good reboot script and how Shepherd’s death was unnecessary. These are the same people who got pissed when Ghost was abruptly killed off 14 years ago in OG MW2 and when Soap was killed off in MW3. Everyone saying the storyline was really bad, but after playing it myself, I kind of understand where people are coming from, but this isn’t the full story. I’m sure sometime in the future, we’re going to see the full complete story. also soaps, death was really painful to watch and I never even played the original modern warfare games. I’ve only started the reboot modern warfare in 2019. And his death still hits me hard.

Looking at the comments on videos of the new mw3 really piss me off comparing New Makarov and Speherd to their original counterparts. The originals were designed to be pure evil. The same thing is true for the new ones, they’re just a more realistic evil (especially realistic in the sense of a COMMANDER. realistically a corrupt general would be pulling the strings from behind the safety of a military base. Someone like makarov would do the same, just as he oversaw most of everything and had it executed rather then taking part. The true scum of the earth don’t get involved in their own catastrophes, they only orchestrate it. Just because the new ones aren’t as “badass” does NOT mean they aren’t good villains in their own right.)
