Weirdly enough, Johnny actually mentions "Ark of the Covenant" at one point in the story so either the movie was a shameless rip off or it implies that Johnny IS the Harrison Ford of the MK universe
And its fitting that his story opens with an Indiana Jones parody since Johnny's story arc was about learning to let go of material possessions that rightfully belonged to someone else's people
