One thing I remember is that the decisions you make & time to complete all affect the ending. You're wasting too much time on a scavenger hunt while Maria is accompanying you. Resident evil, in the other way, has some more excitement you get excited to use and upgrade weapons, see the next boss and get fully involved in the fighting.
