Tourism has been big part of the Sri Lankan economy post-war and thus of interest for the government which downplayed the atrocities committed by them during the civil war. I get not wanting to support the government in any way however I feel like it’s fine to visit Sri Lanka as long as you are aware of the horrors of the civil war and not just see it as the paradise the government is trying to portray.
