This game actually reminds me of a horror movie called "Virus" (1999), starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Donald Sutherland, William Baldwin, Joanna Pacula, and Cliff Curtis (from Fear the Walking Dead). That movie was not an oil rig, but set on a Russian science vessel at sea. An alien entity invaded a Russian satellite which transmitted it down to the ship. It took over the crew one by one, using the crews' bodies and mixing them with technical hardware on the ship (like very creepy cyborgs). The main cast of the movie played a maritime salvage team which found the Russian ship which looked abandoned. They thought they were going to find much salvage and get rich, but what they actually found was far more than what they bargained for! If you have never seen that movie Brad, I highly recommend it, especially as it has many similarities to this game.
