Seeing Peter almost DIE at the hands of Kraven (during their FIRST official meeting) as both MJ and Harry watched in horror……… was one of the most GENUINELY SHOCKING MOMENTS in the entire game. I didn’t cry (because I knew Peter HAD to live in order for the game to go on)........... but as I watched this scene for the very first time……………… I actually had to set down my controller to cover my open mouth with my right hand and my quickly-beating heart with my left............... because this was the FIRST TIME IN A VERY LONG TIME that a Spider-Man story had GENUINELY threw me a GUT PUNCH STRAIGHT THROUGH THE HEART (and not even Aunt May’s death and/or Tobey Maguire Peter’s POTENTIAL death in Spider-Man: No Way Home hit me THIS EMOTIONALLY HARD when they REALLY SHOULD’VE). All this time…… I was just somewhat impatiently waiting for Kraven and Spider-Man to FINALLY MEET in person………………… and guess what? The first thing the Kraven does upon that first meeting…………… is kill Spider-Man…… with little to effort OR emotion. CUE MY BIGGEST SHOCKED AND HEARTBROKEN FACE in ALL my years of gaming AND being the HUGE Spider-Man fan that I’ve always been. JESUS CHRIST.
