Since Wesker now has Krauser's body (which contains a control dominant plaga that was enhanced by the Amber) and the remains of the island that probably has more Las Plagas samples, losing the Amber isn't as much of a loss whatsoever. Also by the fact that these fight somehow explains what happened to the black cloaked Verdugo during the events of the game, while Leon was fighting with the red cloaked Verdugo in the sewers below Salazar's Castle.
