Something on the level of major E-Sports competitions, or like a video game Olympics. They have the resources and it would be awesome for the next event to be able to have a huge stadium with fans in attendance to hype up the events. So if they do, here is my 2 cents on future formats. Run the competition like a game for the players and like a show for the viewers. With enough competitors and a good schedule you could completely cut out the need for the long periods of downtime between each game. Make them walking on the stage a spectacle and them going off the stage a chance to talk with the winner in the foreground while the organizer set up for the next event in the background. That way the live audience isn't bored for several minutes after each game. This will all help it to feel like a show to the audience. To make it feel more like a game to the contenders you should cut eliminations entirely, there is a reason most video and board games don't have permadeath in a multiplayer game. Player elimination is inherently not fun, fair, or engaging for the audience, after all, once your favorite is eliminated do you keep watching for another several hours or even days in multi-day events? Probably not, elimination leads to either frustration or relief, never fun. Instead everyone plays every game and receives points, just like you already have, but placing is decided through points, not elimination. Additionally, you should avoid any positive or negative feedback loops in a competition to determine the best. So no uneven teams because they won the first game, you'll just make everyone hard focus the first game and rely on the snowball method to win. It also puts players who had a bad game or a bad day in an even worse spot where they will negative snowball into elimination. After all, if you are trying to determine the best overall gamer, then why do the gamers that lose get the handicap? Normally isn't that the other-way around? Yes, it is, and that is why some people were getting tilted after XDefiant. They got a handicap in a shooting game because they lost racing games and Fall Guys, no wonder they were upset, imagine finding out you owe additional taxes because you can't hold your breath for a minute. What do they have to do with each other, nothing, and it should stay that way, so get rid of the frustration and keep everyone happy by getting rid of the pointless feedback loops. Each year you can do different games, even get the community involved in voting for genres or specific games that will be part of the event. To get more game types you just need more people (obviously can't do battle royals with 19 players), to get more people, open it up to the public. A few months before the main event do a streaming only qualifiers event. Anyone who places in the top x number of spots in each genre and/or overall makes it to the main competition, you know, how (E)sports work. Of course the downside of all of this is Ludwig would need way more helpers to make sure everyone is where they need to be when they need to be there. That plus the larger number of contenders, and by extension, the likely larger prize pool means more costs associated with the event, but that is exactly why you have a live audience, ticket sales to fund the whole thing. Because, if it isn't self sustainable it will not last long, YT just isn't as frivolous with their spending as Mr. Beast lol. That's all for later though, for now, great job setting up this event and great first show. Also, props to Jaiden for doing so well without a single Pokemon game on the list lol.>> <<@DubLightning says : i love how much ludwig likes to use fancy words slightly incorrectly>> <<@apex1171_ says : What a great event!
