Like, how tf did Mephisto and Co not detect Marius when they were performing the ritual? We see Tyrael on the other side of the chasm, "No, don't do it!"... But did he realize this had happened during his fight? Meanwhile, Baal has been projecting images at Marius during his whole approach. Marius pulls the stone free, looks at it, and Tyrael is suddenly there with him in a dream-like scene, telling him BY NAME where to go and what to do... And then Tyrael is magically back onto the other side of the chasm, somehow getting surprised by the freed Baal. That was all Baal telling Marius what to do.
