That force explosion that evaporated the storm troopers isn’t an ability that is considered canon. Starkiller isn’t in canon or legends continuity. He’s also an artificial life from and therefore wouldn’t have the ability to wield the force. Additionally Vader has been able to crush an entire room using the force so shackling him with just some metal braces would be stupid. He could tear them off. Vader doesn’t need to make the hand gesture to crush people’s throats or hearts either.
